Experiential Learning in Vadnagar - A Journey Beyond Classrooms.

history_edu school verified

Our school organized an educational trip to Vadnagar in collaboration with Namo Utkarsh for students of Grades 6 to 8 on 21st April 2026. A total of 28 students and 4 teachers participated in this meaningful learning journey. The trip began with pre-work where students prepared themselves by thinking about what they would observe and learn. During the journey, students carefully observed their surroundings, including landscapes, water bodies, and how people interact with nature.

Water Conservation - Learning from the Land At Nagdhara, students learned how water is managed in a practical and effective way. They observed how water from the Rupen River flows into Sharmistha Lake through a planned system where it gets filtered and reused. This helped students understand how communities manage water resources wisely, even in limited conditions, and showed them the importance of sustainability in real life.

Archaeological Insights - Connecting with the Past Students also visited the Buddhist archaeological site in Vadnagar, where they explored the remains of an ancient monastery and learned about past lifestyles. They observed artefacts related to food, storage, and daily living. A visit to the museum helped them connect these findings with real-life stories. At Prerna School, students reflected on the role of education and how it has evolved over time.

Conclusion

This trip was not just a visit but a meaningful learning experience. It encouraged students to observe, think, and connect classroom knowledge with real-life situations. The Vadnagar journey helped them understand important concepts like sustainability and history in a simple and practical way, making learning more effective and memorable.
